The future is Building Now

Many of the comments that can be made about what we would like to see done in terms of space regulation will one day have a voice and vote promptly alongside other countries that are fighting to make this possible. Some time ago, I made a list and the most interesting thing is that in one of the publications of my colleague Clive Simpson, there is a relevant point that I added to my list:

Ownership and Use of Resources: The treaty currently prohibits the national appropriation of outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies. However, with the growing interest in space mining, it may be necessary to update the regulations on the exploitation of space resources to ensure equitable and sustainable use.

The colonization of celestial bodies also poses a challenge to the private appropriation of technology, to what extent governments are willing to share their innovations while in space or on a celestial body. Including the use of rockets and space stations with scientific technology.

2.- Space Debris: The accumulation of space debris is a growing problem. Stricter rules on the management and disposal of space debris could be implemented to protect the space environment and future missions.
Not only that, verifying whether what is being launched is excessive, controlling everything that is already there and that has not been possible to direct to orbit or other celestial bodies. Thinking about less is more when it comes to protecting the space environment and satellite routes.

3.-Security and Defense: The treaty establishes that space must be used for peaceful purposes. However, with the advancement of military technology and the possibility of conflicts in space, it may be necessary to review and strengthen the provisions on militarization and the use of weapons in space.
Defence weapons and monitors focused on the control of critical areas, as far as I know, is something that already exists, however, between countries and their borders they are allowed to know so much about each other. Now some consider the use and employment of atomic bombs justifiable under the pretext that they are to destroy large asteroids or meteorites, the feasibility analysis is imperative.

4.- Environmental Protection: As space activities increase, it is crucial to consider the environmental impact on space and other celestial bodies. Specific clauses could be added for the protection of the space environment.
There are few times when the impact of space debris has endangered humans, but what about the sea, which houses its depths when radioactive elements that were in some equipment turned into space debris fall.
What would happen if some device damages the underground internet network, who would be to blame and how would the offender be punished?

  1. International Cooperation: Promoting greater international cooperation and establishing clear mechanisms for resolving disputes could improve global space governance.
Beyond the great conflicts generated between countries, space is a common territory. In it, the problems of the Earth should be invalidated to resolve what specifically means the future of humanity. Now the interesting note from our colleague and editor of the Asgardian ROOM magazine, Clive Simpson, the journalist points out in one of his paragraphs:

Space suits are not simply uniforms; They are critical safety systems and the last line of defence for an astronaut, especially during launch and reentry, when the risk of cabin depressurization is greatest. And in another of his paragraphs he warns: By establishing common standards, similar to those developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in other industries, the space sector can ensure that astronauts, regardless of the spacecraft they board, have the best possible protection.

Without a doubt, everything that new societies face is interesting, the accumulation of regulations and details will be necessary for the things we want as a society that looks to space as its home in the future to be possible.
