The scenario for the planet is not easy; it is not anchored in justifications, but in realities that weigh on us and finding solutions is complex.

For example, the pressure exerted by non-governmental organizations are similar to the roots of trees, underneath they create effective connections to be able to feed the areas that are being deforested, those that have fallen under the influence of plagues, covering large territories where no matter what gender or race they are, they will try to keep them alive.
We cannot forget that there are antagonistic organisms and these will not only give up the help that the shared sap provides them, but they will do everything possible to create harmful toxins to invalidate the connections.
Let us then talk about the difference between authoritarian regimes and those that have signed agreements with the UN, and that have historically created a very deep gap, it is like dividing the world between those who try to invalidate an unpostponable situation and those who have no deadlines to fulfill their prerogatives, in this case, to continue with the attack to destroy those who live where they think they do not deserve it and do not deserve it because they do not think like them and the others intervened to tell them how they should live.
We find ourselves again with the metaphorical figure of the garden in front, where everyone regardless of gender, social class or race, can and should study, have the right to decide what to believe and what to work on, but there are groups that do not see this as appropriate, according to their beliefs, their postulates and theology should be respected and people who do not agree should be judged, martyred or expelled. This is in accordance with the most rigorous scenario and of course, there are those who are permissive in other societies, but they also mark those who are classified as black sheep of the flock.
Non-discrimination advocates respect for all, all and those now called «todes» (all); in war it does not matter what gender classification you have if you are on the side where fire must be opened.
Let us now look at the crucial role that the UN has played in certain spaces:
Since its creation in 1945, the UN has played a crucial role in promoting and signing peace agreements around the world, facilitating a framework for international cooperation and dialogue between nations. Here are some notable examples:
The Camp David peace accords between Egypt and Israel in 1978, which were brokered by the UN, and the peace treaty in the Balkan region, which marked a milestone in the resolution of protracted conflicts. In addition, the UN has been at the forefront of numerous peacekeeping missions, working tirelessly to ensure security and stability in war-torn areas.
Burundi: The Arusha Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in 2000 was instrumental in ending the civil war in Burundi, a devastating conflict that had caused the deaths of thousands of people and displaced many families.
The UN has also facilitated numerous peace processes in countries such as Liberia, Sierra Leone and Cambodia, among others, promoting constructive dialogues and offering logistical and financial support to nations in crisis, which has allowed reconstruction and stability in various regions of the world.
Colombia: In 2016, the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) signed a historic peace agreement to end more than 50 years of armed conflict, a confrontation that had left millions of victims in its multiple dimensions, including forced displacement and violence. This agreement not only sought to demobilize the guerrillas, but also to implement a series of social and economic reforms that will guarantee the inclusion of the communities most affected by the war.
South Africa: In 1994, a peace agreement was signed that ended apartheid, a system of racial segregation that had oppressed the country’s black majority for decades, and brought Nelson Mandela, who had spent 27 years imprisoned for his beliefs, to the presidency. This milestone not only symbolized the fight for equality and human rights, but also laid the groundwork for a new nation in which diversity and unity were valued, subsequently promoting a process of national reconciliation.
Analyzing its role in the world today has become a complex matter, we see an impoverished and diminished UN, especially considering that the planet is arming itself with shrapnel even for what could happen in the future. This context of increasing geopolitical tension and militarization raises questions about global security, as well as the stability of nations.
The consequences of these weapons not only affect the states directly involved, but also have a domino effect that reverberates internationally, generating a climate of uncertainty and concern.
Therefore, it is crucial that world leaders reflect on this issue and seek diplomatic solutions that promote peace and cooperation, thus avoiding a possible conflict that could have, as I have already mentioned, devastating repercussions for humanity.
For its part, the UN not only seeks to end armed conflicts, but also to promote reconciliation and the reconstruction of affected societies. There is a consideration that no one considers and it is called “World Disarmament.”
