Could it be possible that she can name herself as a universal being when humans constantly mark their differences? Taking into account that the tree itself decides to be recognized as a universal species, it may be, let’s analyse…
The premise that led me to discover a system of very important interactions in trees was motivated by the biologist Suzanne Simard, who is recognized for her fascinating research on communication and cooperation between trees through underground networks of fungi, known as mycorrhizae. Simard has highlighted how trees share resources and support each other, suggesting that we could learn a lot from these behaviours to build more collaborative and sustainable societies.

Researching the personalities who have dedicated themselves to caring for and preserving forests and creating courses around them, is numerous and very valuable, in this sense I join in some way with their effort from my perspective, finding in their research and discoveries that interaction that unifies us with a living being that can show us how we are by recognizing how they are, so each of the trees on the planet tell us about the value they give to time, the environment and everything that surrounds them where deficiencies and suitable environments can be found.
There is one particular theme that I have discovered as an Asgardian writer (by the way, that’s how you can name me), that people who don’t know Asgardia and get in touch with social media, discover that in Asgard there was a tree called Yggdrasil, known as the «World Tree», it is an evergreen ash tree (Fraxinus excelsior) and it is from that concept that they conceive what we are as a space nation, however, there is a widespread concept of the reference that points out:
In ancient Norse sources, it is said that Odin sacrificed one of his eyes to gain wisdom. He also hung himself from the great tree known as Yggdrasil for nine days and nights to reach higher levels of consciousness; during this time, he received the knowledge of the runes, as noted in the Elder Futhark of divination.
While the tree tells a magnificent story where its wisdom anchors ancient knowledge, around the world we find other symbols that refer to trees and that have become vital beings of knowledge and meditation, such as the tree in which Buddha decides to meditate, the Bodhi Tree. This tree is a sacred fig tree of the Ficus religiosa species and is considered a sacred tree that represents immortality and connection with the divine.
On the other hand, the Tree of Life of Metepec is one of the most emblematic artistic expressions of the region in the state of Mexico. This sculpture, although it does not refer to a particular species of tree, represents life in its entirety. Made of clay by expert hands, this artisanal sculpture is a symbol of the creativity and skill of Mexican artisans. From its roots to its branches and flowers, the Tree of Life is a detailed representation of the nature and culture of the Metepec region. The unique ability of the sculptors to capture history, traditions and beliefs in this masterpiece is truly impressive.
On the other hand, we find the Oak (Quercus) which refers to Celtic mythology and represents the symbol of strength and resistance. The Celtic druids considered it sacred and used it in rituals.
The Olive tree (Olea europaea), refers to Greek mythology and whose meaning symbolizes peace and prosperity, by the way, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, gave an olive tree to the city of Athens.
It is also interesting to remember the Cherry tree (Prunus serrulata), within Japanese mythology its meaning focuses on cherry blossoms, or sakura, which symbolize the ephemeral beauty of life and are celebrated in festivals such as Hanami.
In short, trees, revered by many cultures throughout history, have been considered sacred and play a vital role in ancient rituals, loaded with deep symbolic meanings. Many of them are part of celebrations to joyfully mark the change of seasons, celebrate the harvests with enthusiasm and honour the cycles of life and death with optimism.
In addition, their presence is associated with the connection to the divine, ancestral wisdom and the fertility of the earth, attributes that make them essential elements in the religious and spiritual practices of various civilizations. The veneration of trees was also manifested through rituals of gratitude, requests for protection and wishes for harmony with nature. In this way, the deep relationship between humanity and the plant kingdom shows us the closeness and connection that we have established over the centuries.
As an example, I can tell you that the relationship created between the two of them demonstrates what I have told you. Just by touching your bark getting close to your essence and asking questions, I have discovered a wealth of wisdom that you have shared with me.
Well, now let’s see step by step how this interaction, so beneficial for both species, the plant and the human, began…
