Are you interested in people knowing your genetic origin, your species or do you simply want to be known by the name tree?

How could I classify and name trees and other plants according to their biological and genetic characteristics?

We fight for life, but we have greater power if everything that surrounds us has learned from the territory that can be its ally, I can assure you that it is easier for you, who cover your body in cold places, who adapt by learning languages and unusual languages in your territories, as humans you are expansive, we have to learn and some species are toxic for some of us.

If you look, I’ll read you something that the forester I was telling you about said:

Trees are predisposed to be very sociable and help each other, but to remain successful in the forest ecosystem, this is not enough. Each tree species tries to get more space, optimize its performance and thus compete with other species.

Along with the fight for light, there is also a water fight, which ultimately wins. Tree roots are unbeatable at using the moisture in the soil. To do this, they form fine hairs to increase their surface area and thus absorb the greatest amount of water. Under normal conditions, this is enough, but more is always better.

On the other hand, he expresses equitable justice in this way, especially among oaks:

This is true, because they fight among themselves for the resources of the area, but, on the contrary, with trees of the same species, the situation is different. I have already mentioned that, for example, beech trees have the capacity for friendship and can even feed each other.

A forest has no interest in losing its weakest components since the consequence is that gaps are created that disturb the fragile microclimate of gloom and high air humidity, although, on the other hand, each of the trees could develop freely and lead its life individually. They could, but at least Oaks seems to place great value on equal justice.

After listening, the tree expresses with determination:

What you as humans call equitable justice, perhaps among trees is limited to the healthy understanding of survival, our ability to see what nourishes us through the relationships we create is essential and if you talk to me about an oak I can tell you that we all know that for humans it represents strength and durability, the reality is that it is based on suffering and thirst, it is that it manages to empower itself in the face of the siege of trees that little by little decide to take over its possibilities to receive the sun on its branches, to feed itself with enough water… They are tenacious fighters; they can live up to 500 years in this attack against everything that subdues them.

The woman continues:

You point out that they grow in the face of the punishment that besieges them.

Not only that, they are used in the barrels of the best wine, their trunks have a substance that for years has protected them from death, and fungi of great power reach them and become their best allies.

Note how the forester warns in his book and devotes a chapter to the oak:

A life full of deprivation that is otherwise devoid of competition has its advantages. The thick, superficial layer of the oak’s bark is more robust than the thin skin of the beech and serves as protection against external enemies.

Then the tree answers:

Now you understand why I am not interested in being seen as a special tree, I am not interested in the limelight and neither in people saying that I had the deference of a lady to inspire her book. Keep my secret, do not say who I am, do not say my species, simply see me as an inspiring tree that you managed to get close to.

Dear tree, I will keep your secret even though I imagine that the most perceptive will be able to imagine who I interview, but not all of them…
